INTERCOMPREHENSION and PLURILINGUALISM

UNITA universities all speak Romance languages, and are committed to fostering linguistic diversity and to the development of rural and cross border mountain territories. UNITA actively and increasingly use Romance languages in addition to English in education, research, innovation and management, thus promoting inclusion and projecting UNITA in large regions of the world, particularly in the Americas and in Africa where these languages are used.

A LABEL for Romance languages learning and Intercomprehension

The UNITA label can be defined as a quality assurance designation for courses focusing on intercomprehension (IC) and Romance languages. It signifies adherence to specific principles and standards aimed at enhancing learners' plurilingual and pluricultural competence.

Les études sur l’intercompréhension la définissent comme «[…] la capacité de comprendre une langue étrangère sur la base d’une autre langue sans l’avoir apprise». Meissner (2003 :31)
